International Expos & Fairs to be held in Bangladesh in 2016

Bangladesh is one of the safe and peaceful venues for hosting international events. Every year a sizable number of events are organized in the capital city, which are attended by many countries. Likewise, in 2016, Bangladesh is going to host a large number of international events this year, a few of which are mentioned below for information relevant businessmen/ companies with a view to facilitating their participation in those events:

  1. Solar Tech Bangladesh:

Solar Tech Bangladesh is a 3 day event to be held from 11- 13 March 2016 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This event showcases products from Electronics & Electrical Goods, Industrial Products, Business Services, Power, Renewable Energy & Energy Conservation, Environment & Waste Management industries. Major participants are Mettler Toledo, HS Enterprise, Jakson Engineers Ltd, Sinoware Technology, Koyo Lift & Escalator, Eco Power Company Ltd, Ningbo Osda Solar Company Ltd, Phocos China, Grundfos, B-Tech Engineering etc.

  1. Bangladesh Denim Expo:

Bangladesh Denim Expo is a 2 days event being held from 25th April to the 26th April 2016 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This event showcases laundry and washing equipments, auxiliaries, dyes specialty chemicals, denim fabrics etc. Major participants are Texhong, Argon ,Denim, Seazon, Denimer, Indego, Kurabo Denim, Landes, Naveena Denim LTD, ORTA, Wong’s Group, Winwinextile etc.

  1. Meditex Bangladesh Expo:

Meditex Bangladesh is a 3 day event being held from 5th May to the 7th May 2016 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This event showcases products from Medical & Pharmaceutical industry. Meditex Bangladesh International Expo is the biggest and only International Exhibition on Medical Equipments, Surgical Instruments, Healthcare, Hospital Equipments& Supplies. It will be the most prestigious and exclusive International Exhibition devoted to focus on the entire Medical Sector of Bangladesh.

  1. Pharma Bangladesh Expo:

Pharma Bangladesh Expo is a 3 day event being held from 5th May to the 7th May 2016 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This event showcases Packaging Machinery/ Materials Tableting & Liquid filling machines, Lab Equipment etc.

  1. International Conference on Informatics, Electronics & Vision:

The International Conference on Informatics, Electronics & Vision organized by the Center for Natural Resources and Development will take place from 13th May to the 14th May 2016 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The conference will cover areas like Medical Informatics, Human-Computer Interaction, Remote Sensing & Geoscience, Biomedical Systems, Applications in Medicine, Robotics & Mechatronics, Automation & Control Systems.

  1. International Conference on Advanced Information and Communication Technology:

The International Conference on Advanced Information and Communication Technology organized by the Chittagong Independent University will take place from 16 – 17 May 2016 at their own campus. The conference will cover Algorithm, wireless communication and networking, 4G and 5G network, cognitive radio network (CRN), wireless sensor network (WSN) and many more.

  1. Asian International Trade & Tourism Expo 2016:

The Asian International Trade & Tourism Expo 2016 will be held at the Bashundhara International Convention City in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 31 May – 04 June 2016.

Asia is considered to be the fastest-growing region in the world with the GDP growth in the Asia-Pacific region surged at an average annual rate of 6.3 per cent & South Asia with 6.4 percent compared with growth of 3.1 per cent in the rest of the world. The real driver of the world economy has been Asia, which has accounted for over half of the world’s growth since 2001. Asia has 21% contribution to the increase in world GDP.  Keeping this in view, CEMS USA has launched a series of exhibition titled ‘Asian International Trade Expo’ showcasing all products and services from Asian countries. Such an exhibition displaying products and services is necessary to bring the Asian countries together under one roof which would also increase trade and bilateral relations within the Asian nations.

  1. Textech International Expo:

Textech International Expo is the biggest and oldest international exhibition on textile and garment technology, machinery and related services. It is a 4 day event being held from 31st August to 3rd September 2016 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This event showcases products like textile and garment machineries and accessories, home textile, clothing, fabrics, yarn, thread, chemicals, CAD/CAM system etc. Major participants are BOGE, CompAir, Jihua group, Godrej, Toyota, Texhut, MAX, Zusun, Oxford Technology, Komatsu, Energypac, Navana etc.

  1. Leathertech Bangladesh:

Leathertech Bangladesh is a 3-day event being held from 3 – 5 November 2016 at the Bashundhara Convention City in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This event showcases leather processing, shaving, polishing, die cutting, sewing and trimming machineries; allied accessories, footwear, leather goods etc. Major participants are UCL, APL, Diamond, PEAFF, JUKI, BACO, Clariant, Classic Enterprises, BKLS, Skicorp etc.

  1. Dhaka International Trade Fair:

The Dhaka International Trade Fair, (DITF) organized by Export Promotion Bureau and the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Bangladesh will be held at Sher-E-Bangla Nagar in Dhaka during January 01-31 2017. This event would project quality exportable of Bangladesh to the visitors from home and abroad. The local producers in the remote areas of rural Bangladesh who do not have financial strength to participate in International trade fair will have the opportunity to display their products to the buyer from abroad at this fair. On the other hand, the overseas participants would have the opportunity to display their products to the consumers of Bangladesh where domestic market of consumer goods is expanding. The foreign participants will also have the opportunity to display their state-of-the-art technology to the local producers and exporters. Besides, the participants will be able to identify business contacts with prospect of entering into subsequent business negotiations. Participants at the DITF 2017 will be able to apply online for their participation.

  1. Food Pro and Agro Bangladesh International Expo -2016

The ‘Food Pro and Agro Bangladesh International Expo -2016’ is scheduled to be held from 23 –26 March 2016. It will be a perfect platform for Manufacturers & Suppliers to showcase their food & agro products/services/hospitality sectors and the Expo will assemble agents, distributors, importers, trading companies, wholesalers, retailers, hotels, restaurants, business representatives, and of course the consumers and other bulk purchasers from worldwide. The Food Festival and Agro based products and service industry is therefore not only a networking ground, but also a place to find business partners and strategic alliances for manufacturing, outsourcing, sub-contracting, design and development as well as direct marketing.

  1. Asian Art Biennial 2016:

The 17th Asian Art Biennial will be held at the Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka from 1st to 31st December 2016.  Asian Art Biennale is an international eventwith local artist’s pieces being displayed and works from countries such as Nepal, Iran, China, Thailand, Korea, Pakistan, Egypt, Japan Chile, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Romania, Turkey, Fiji, Italy, Saudi Arabia and many more. Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh, since its beginning in 1981, has attempted to display the kaleidoscope of various artistic endeavours of our time in which continuity and change come together.

  1. 9th Global Forum on Migration and Development Summit

The 9th Global Forum on Migration and Development Summit will take place in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 10 -12 December 2016. The Global Forum on Migration and Development is an initiative of United Nations Member States to address the migration and development interconnections in practical and action-oriented ways. It is a voluntary, informal, non-binding and government-led process to advance understanding and cooperation on the mutually reinforcing relationship between migration and development and to foster practical and action-oriented outcomes. This is for the second time that Asia will host this important global event that began in 2007. A large number of human rights organisations, migrants’ associations, development NGOs and international organizations are expected to participate in the event.
